Diplomacy:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a three-day visit to Sri Lanka. During his visit, he signed 7 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Sri Lankan government. These agreements aim to improve cooperation in areas like energy, trade, and culture. His visit is seen as a strong step toward building better relations between the two neighboring countries.

PM Modi also received the Mithra Vibhushana honor, which is one of Sri Lanka's top awards given to foreign leaders. It shows the deep friendship and respect between the two nations. The visit and the award highlight the strong bond and growing partnership between India and Sri Lanka.

Health:

The Delhi government has signed an MoU to start the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) in the city. With this move, Delhi becomes the 35th state or union territory to join the scheme. This health program helps poor and needy families by giving them free treatment in hospitals across the country.

Under PM-JAY, each family can get free treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh every year. It covers many major illnesses and surgeries. By joining this scheme, lakhs of people in Delhi will now be able to get better healthcare without worrying about money.

Presidential Diplomacy:

President Droupadi Murmu is visiting Portugal and Slovakia from April 7 to 10, 2025. This is a special trip to make India’s friendship stronger with both countries. In Portugal, she will meet important leaders like the President, Prime Minister, and others. This visit is also special because it marks 50 years of good relations between India and Portugal.

After Portugal, the President will go to Slovakia. There, she will talk with leaders about working together in areas like trade, technology, and culture. This is the first time in many years that an Indian President is visiting these countries. The trip shows that India wants to build better ties and share ideas with more countries around the world.

Defense & Maritime:

INS Sunayna has started its journey from Karwar as part of Mission SAGAR. This mission is focused on building strong friendships and cooperation in the Indian Ocean region. On board are naval officers from nine friendly countries, including Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Mauritius. The mission is a key part of India’s SAGAR vision, which stands for “Security and Growth for All in the Region.”

During this trip, INS Sunayna will visit several important ports and offer training to foreign naval officers. The goal is to improve teamwork, share knowledge, and make the seas safer for everyone. This mission shows India’s strong support for peaceful and friendly maritime relations with its neighbors.

Sports – EPL Highlights:
